Watching the amateur golfers partner the European Tour stars at the recent Dunhill European Tour event in Scotland revealed perhaps what those of us who regularly play better-ball already know: what a difference it makes to have a good partner! Being united to someone who has all the talent and ability required transforms the situation. I may play appallingly, but if he is making birdies then we are doing well.
