Taking the word of God to the world of golf
Once players reach the age of 50 the new vistas of Seniors Golf open up for them.
This is a growing tour featuring players from all over the world - British, Europeans,
Australians, New Zealanders, Japanese, North and South Americans etc etc.
Mark Pinney and Bill Ferguson are the pastors on this Tour, which is known as "the
friendly Tour." It very much lives up to this name with its warm atmosphere and camaraderie,
although none of the keen competitiveness of professional sport is lost.
A regular feature of the Seniors Tour are the Pro. Ams before, and sometimes part of, the tournament. This means that we usually have our Tour Christian Forum on Friday evenings, after the first round, at which we have bible study, discussion and occasional visiting speakers. There is always lively banter and comment.
Just like the regular Tour, there are opportunities over a cup of coffee or dinner in the evening to encourage and support someone personally; it is a privilege to share our lives in this way. Quite often we are also found engaged in discussion with non-Christian friends about the claims of Christ.
